Vernissage

My brother is working as a teacher in Sabah. He was married and blessed with two girls about a decade ago. I said was because he got divorced a few years back. To cut the story short, it was all my mother’s fault. She visited my brother in Keningau, Sabah one too often and stayed for weeks on end. In one of those stays, she got into arguments with my brother’s wife and end up giving her a slap on her face. I didn’t know if they ever patched up but she asked for a divorce about a year later. I guess she never forgiven my mother. As much as my brother tried to save his marriage, his wife was adamant. There’s no way back while my mother is still in the picture.

After the divorce, my mother still visits my brother in Sabah from time to time. His two girls were left with my mother during that time. During that time, my brother got to know a local lady in Sabah and my mother was eager for them to get them together. The two girls were not so keen of having a stepmother. They just want their own mother. Upset about this, my mother put up some strong words to the girls which naturally made them dislike her.

Fast forward November 2025, my brother’s ex-wife is working in Selangor while Faiz stayed as a teacher in Sabah. Somehow they agreed to reconcile and remarry, that’s tomorrow. I’m going to be one of the witness.

I can tell that my mother is glad they agreed to remarry despite their past history. I already warned my mother not to visit Sabah too often and stay no more than 3 days with them. I reminded her not to ruin their marriage again although she seems to make light of her role.

I hope my brother will be more stern on mother this time around. Despite not wanting to be rude to his mother, the mother of his children is also important. I wish they will live happily ever after, after this.
